Google Home Academy: How to Control Every Homiio Device With Google Home

Google Nest Hub with Homiio smart home devices — Google Home Academy guide

Why Google Home + Homiio Is a Powerful Combination

Google Home is the smart home platform of choice for Android users and anyone deep in the Google ecosystem. With over 500 million active Google Home users worldwide, it’s one of the most capable and widely used smart home platforms available.

Homiio devices connect to Google Home via the Tuya Smart service — no hub, no bridge, no extra hardware. This guide walks you through setup, the best voice commands, building routines, and pro tips to get the most from your Homiio + Google Home setup.

Essential Google Home Voice Commands for Homiio Devices

Smart Bulb Commands

  • “Hey Google, turn on the bedroom light”
  • “Hey Google, dim the living room to 40%”
  • “Hey Google, set the kitchen light to warm white”
  • “Hey Google, change the light to purple”
  • “Hey Google, turn off all lights”

Smart Plug Commands

  • “Hey Google, turn on the coffee maker”
  • “Hey Google, turn off the TV plug”
  • “Hey Google, is the fan on?”

Sensor Status Commands

  • “Hey Google, is the front door open?”
  • “Hey Google, what’s the status of my motion sensor?”

Pro tip: Rename your devices in the Tuya app to natural names like “bedroom light” before linking to Google Home — it makes voice commands much more intuitive.

Setting Up Google Home Rooms

Rooms let you control all devices in a space with one command. “Hey Google, turn off the living room” switches off every device assigned to that room.
